Pen Turning

Cut blank about 1/16 to 1/32 longer then brass tube

Drill a 7mm or 9/32 hole in the center of the blank.  Hold blank vertical to drill press table.

Installing brass tube into the blank

Sand brass tube with 100 grit sandpaper

Put tube on a 1/4 dowel or some way to  hold the brass tube

Apply CA glue to the full length of the tub and end of the blank

Insert tube into blank twisting tube to spread glue inside of the blank

Make sure the tube is just below the edge of the blank

Work fast as you only have a few seconds to position the tube in the blank

Lay the blank on a piece of wood or paper towel

    Let dry 10 - 15 minutes

Blank preparation

Trim the blank flush with the brass tube end using a Pen mill

Turn the blank to about the bushing size

Move the tool rest out of the way
